On Cloud Nine® Math: A Visualizing and Verbalizing® Math Program: similar to other Lindamood-Bell® programs, students learn to image and verbalize complex math concepts
Montessori Method: this sensory-based philosophy enables a student to concretely explore concepts utilizing didactic materials with built-in control of error
Socratic Method: stimulates higher order and critical thinking skills through methodical, engaging dialogue between guide and student
Test Prep (including ISTEP and IREAD): taking tests is a large part of a student’s academic career; if your child needs preparation for content, experiences test anxiety or has difficulty studying, we can incorporate test taking/study skill strategies into any of our individualized programs
General Tutoring: while most of our programs are highly specialized, we also offer general content tutoring in many academic subjects including Algebra, Geometry and Chemistry; this option is ideal for families seeking a less intensive, more affordable program which primarily utilizes the student’s textbook
Our one-on-one and small group programs are thoughtfully tailored to students, their unique abilities and multiple intelligences. We utilize a variety of sources in our personalization process, including parent/school reports, diagnostic assessments and dialogue. We take inspiration from science-based theories and corporate tools such as Myers-Briggs and mindfulness meditation. Additionally, we use technology to streamline processes and facilitate meaningful learning. Our vast network of psychologists, technologists and others enables us to seek additional insight whenever necessary. We are guided by experience, intuition and research, but mainly, we follow the student.
