About the Microschool Directory
Meridian launched the first microschool directory in 2016 to support visibility and connection across the global grassroots microschool ecosystem. The directory includes schools representing a wide range of educational philosophies and models. Some schools are featured or display Meridian accreditation based on participation within the Meridian community. Listings are maintained by schools themselves.

Masterpiece Academy honors students for who they are as individuals and who they are in Christ. We serve and empower students through Biblical truth, individualized core instruction, project-based learning and character development. Our goal is to strengthen students in Christ while equipping them with 21st century skills needed for their future careers.
We function based on five pillars: individualization, relevance, immersive, technology, and faith-based.
Our tiny community is blooming with kids and we are looking to bring back a local tradition of local education in a one-room schoolhouse setting, with an education program focused on teaching the kids to learn, think and grow instead of memorize and prep for tests. One-room schoolhouses have a long history in this area, with the last one closing just 10 years ago. The families of a small and remote community of Martinsdale Montana want a childhood experiences that does not include a twice a day, one hour or more, bus ride to the nearest school.
We have a kindergarten class of 6 for fall 2018, and enroll will grow to at least 12 within the first 5 years. Unlike many rural and isolated areas, we are growing with families due to ranching and industry.
Due to our remote location, we qualify for public school funding but we have struggled to get our school districts Board of Trustees to listen and learn the facts. As we persevere and work to gain their support, we are looking in to any and all options, Public, Private, Charter, etc. We are also very open to new, old and unique teaching and learning models.
We have very motivated families and a new schoolhouse but we are looking for teacher(s) and/or educational innovators that are interested in taking on this incredible opportunity for themselves and the kids.
We would be more open to non-public if we could find the right person(s) to oversee the school as we feel this is one area, that is not best suited for this group of parents and we haven't been able to find anyone else local with the skills or qualifications to take on such an important role.
There is a good chance that we cannot pull all of this together by fall 2018 and that is ok. It is most important to find the right path and educating partners and that takes time. If we build it, they will come.
If you are interested in more information, or have helpful resources, please contact me. Thank you!

Highlands Micro School is a progressive, non-religious, independent elementary school in Northwest Denver.
At Empower Innovate Achieve Academy our mission is to help students thrive and grow in the learning environment. Students will receive a quality education that will include an appreciation for health, wellness, outdoor activities, life skills and being a leader in their community. Students learn at their own pace and engage in collaborative, project-based activities.
Do.Think.Learn began with a question, “Can you teach our son?” And like many great bands and companies, Do.Think.Learn started in a garage. Since 2017 we have worked to change education one student at time. These days we have a nice office and more students, but our goal is the same. We know if we’ve done our job when students look up from a project and say, “Yeah, I got this.”
Students succeed in schools that meet their needs. Do.Think.Learn adapts the curriculum to fit the needs of each student and how they learn best. We emphasize: Process over Product, a four day school week (Friday is Choose Your Own Adventure Day), no homework, no testing, more meaningful assessment, and students driving their learning.
We believe that less is more. We offer students (and families) something different and something more. We focus on nontraditional learners, regenerative education, and students who want more from school. Nontraditional learning unfortunately often has a bad reputation. DTL provides a flexible learning community to allow each student time and space to explore and develop their ideas and skills. This reinvigorates learning for students. We also focus on depth instead of breadth of learning and skills development over subject mastery. DTL helps students learn in a way that works for them. Students don’t all learn the same way, so we don't teach them the same way. We adapt and shape how we teach and what we teach to each student. This way each student is prepared for whatever future they create for themself.

Welcome to the next chapter of CTL- bringing world class education to the globe through the development of a hybrid eco-system of online and in person education clubhouses.
CTL has a proven track record with 100% of its graduates accepted to top rate universities in the US. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the single school site is ready to branch out and engage the world.
Covid 19 proved that learning does not have to be geographically bound. Therefore CTL is launching its Global online academic secondary program (grades 6-12) to offer those not located in Abuja its fully accredited, project based, Advanced Placement aligned American education program. Students graduating from this program will be eligible to apply to universities around the world. As enrollment increases, in-person education clubhouses will open to accommodate the CTL scholars where they can go and co-learn and be part of a 3 dimensional community while connected via their virtual platform for the academic content.
Our Vision
The vision of CTL is to develop passionate scholars, global citizens and servant leaders who are equipped to be agents of positive change in their communities.
CTL School Mission
The Mission of CTL Academy is to create an inclusive environment that meets the needs of diverse learners; to harness the advances in science, technology, and the arts; to prepare students to be critical and creative thinkers, and problem solvers.
CTL Beliefs
CTL Believes that:
● Each child is a gift, and each child’s enrollment is an invaluable trust.
● Each member of our school community (from the Head of School to the cleaner) is a role model.
● Parents are critical partners in the development and success of each child.
● Character counts! Everywhere, all the time; we adopt the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship
for your child that will instill a lifelong love of learning?
At Cottage, each child is respected as a unique, self-
motivated individual who approaches learning in their
own way.
Cottage Montessori got its start in the living room, dining room, and kitchen of my small home in Wayland, MA in the fall of 1993. I founded Cottage as a toddler program, with six two year-olds and a group of trusting and committed parents, some of whom are my friends to this day. Part of the beauty of our program, in addition to nurturing the potential of each individual child, is our close-knit community of parents who get to know and support each other, not only while their children are at Cottage but often for many years beyond that time. We'd love to have you join us.
Since 2016 Chronos Academy has been creating education the hard way, from scratch. The founders of San Anselmo's new K-8 micro-school, Daniel and Celeste Ezell set out to create a curriculum in their lab school in the same fashion Elon Musk engineered an orbital rocket: from first principles. “We have this great timeline of history we wanted to give to our students… and a bunch of other subjects we know they need to succeed…” Was there a way to bring those together into a seamless whole? The inspiration they needed appeared on the bookshelf at an AirBNB weekend in Guerneville. Daniel flipped through the pages of The Timetables of History. “Everything is in here! Why not teach everything like this—in order.“
Each week, Chronos curriculum consists of lessons in each subject integrated to a time and place. These week-long lessons add up to a four-year tour through the history of humanity and our innovations over the past 10,000 years. “We’ve implemented the best of our neighboring pedagogues: narrative from Waldorf, individual concrete exploration from Montessori, unit studies from public classrooms, memory work from classical models—and focused on grit, curiosity and maturity as our motivation. We are helping to grow wonderful people,” Celeste beamed.
Boone Prairie offers a classical foundation, delivering the education in an engaging way. Our model is different from typical schools hybrids in that we place students on ability for math, writing/reading. All new students 3rd-8th test into math and provide a writing sample. For example we have had 1st graders test at level 3 math and 6th graders test at Algebra level as well as level 3. The primary goal is to have all students ready for Algebra 1 by 9th grade, while students who are high ability or start the program at a younger age will often be finished with 2 HS credits by the start of 9th grade. Students without a classical background start in Latin A regardless of grade level. Classes are outdoors as much as possible through the fall and spring. Science and History are offered on a 4 year rotation. This allows families to learn together across grades for History/Geography/Art/Music, yet at the students appropriate grade level. Leadership, entrepreneurial skills, integrity/character are foundational as well.

With Beyond Education Inc Academy, our goal is to achieve a holistic educational experience that fosters both academic excellence and spiritual growth. We aim to provide students with a cutting-edge education tailored to their individual needs, encompassing core subjects, Agricultural Sciences, and Bible classes. Our focus is on creating a learning environment that nurtures the heart alongside the mind. By integrating the Bible into every aspect of education, we aim to point children to Jesus and instill the joy of service. Our commitment to community service further reinforces our students' connection to their community and neighbors. We offer student boarding and day student options to ensure a safe, predictable, and Christ-filled environment. Ultimately, our aspiration is to inspire students to embrace Christian living and to flourish academically, spiritually, and personally.
A holistic, nature-based microschool located in the East Metro of the Twin Cities. We value self-directed, student-led learning and strive to help our students become balanced in mind-body-spirit so they can pursue their passions into adulthood.
Ascend Micro School partners with parents to provide an engaging, learner-driven education rooted in compassion for our local community and the people in it. We aim to embrace the strengths of the curious, driven, passionate, gifted students we serve and empower them through highly individualized instruction, place-based education, hands-on learning, and character development so that each child can strengthen the gifts that are uniquely theirs and vital to our world.
A child’s education should reach far beyond academic standards. By the time students move to adulthood, they should be able to thrive as a member of society. We believe the purpose of education is to equip students to be lifelong learners and compassionate citizens while preparing them to live an enriched, fulfilling life as they create positive change in their community.
We are a homeschool hybrid, also referred to as an independent school. We fall under both private school and homeschool laws. Students attend 1-3 days a week and are homeschooled the other days.
