Where are you located?
Meridian Montessori is located in the historic Mt. Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.
What are your age requirements?
We accept children age 3 to 6 years. Occasionally, based on readiness, observation and parent feedback, we accept children age 2.5 to 3.
What does it mean to be a boutique preschool?
By boutique preschool, we mean intentionally small, thoughtfully curated, and deeply rooted in the surrounding neighborhood. Our size allows children to be known well while still giving them the freedom to develop independence, build relationships, and work at their own pace within a warm, home-like community.
Why are children of different ages together in one classroom?
Mixed-age classrooms are a core part of Montessori education. Children ages 3–6 learn alongside one another in a carefully prepared environment, working at different levels of readiness rather than being separated strictly by age. Younger children learn by observing older peers, while older children deepen their confidence and understanding through leadership, collaboration, and practice.
Why is kindergarten part of the preschool classroom?
In Montessori education, ages 3–6 form one developmental cycle, with kindergarten serving as the culminating third year. After two years of building familiarity, independence, and foundational skills, older children have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, deepen their academic work, and become leaders within the classroom community. The third year allows children to experience the full benefit of the cycle rather than leaving just as many earlier experiences begin to come together.
What kind of parent participation do you expect?
We view your child’s education as a collaborative effort; thus, parent participation is encouraged and expected. We ask parents to bring snack on a rotating basis. We hope parents will join us for events such as our annual garden planting and classroom celebrations. We also encourage parents to help create continuity in their child’s development and to maximize their child’s classroom experience by incorporating Montessori principles at home.
How much is tuition?
For the 2026–27 school year, tuition for our preschool & kindergarten program ranges from $375 to $600 per month, depending on whether a child attends two, three, or four mornings per week. Additional fees apply for registration and materials and optional programs, including Lunch Bunch and Forest Fridays. A multi-sibling discount is available.
How do I know if Montessori is right for my child?
Parents are encouraged to arrange a visit to learn more about the Montessori philosophy and how it is practiced at Meridian. As a community of Montessorians, we also welcome the opportunity to connect you with other families who have experienced the Meridian Montessori difference.
Does the preschool program follow the public school schedule?
We begin our regular school year just after Labor Day and end classes just before Memorial Day. Typically, all public school holidays are observed.
Do you offer a summer program?
We offer our preschool prep program during the summer months.
