Meridian Micro Farm is a student-run micro farm, learning lab and urban Erdkinder in Cincinnati, Ohio. It’s designed for students ages 12-18, including those preparing for or attending dual-enrollment College Credit Plus, trade or vocational programs, and online schools. Our curriculum is rooted in entrepreneurship, life skills, community service and sustainability. Completely attuned to the needs of adolescence, the Micro Farm serves as a meaningful community for teens in their passage to adulthood.
We’re centering what many Montessori schools treat as an add-on — giving adolescents a place to practice adulthood, not just study for it. Learn more about our approach in this article.
Our work at Meridian Micro Farm is rooted in Erdkinder — a living model of adolescent Montessori education that prioritizes purposeful work, entrepreneurship, and community contribution. Rather than preparing for “real life” later, our students live it now — guided by mentors who help them grow in independence, capability, and purpose.
