Summer — designed specifically for adolescents.
Our Summer Stewardship is a two-day-per-week experience grounded in land-based work, shared responsibility, and the rhythms of the season. Students return each week to ongoing work at the micro farm, contributing to projects that evolve over time. At times, students may also work alongside guest contributors or seasonal experts connected to the projects underway.
How adolescents contribute:
- Maintain and care for garden spaces through watering, weeding, harvesting, and seasonal upkeep
- Engage in ongoing outdoor and creative work connected to the micro farm
- Plan and carry out small-scale projects connected to growing, preparing, and sharing what the farm produces
- Prepare simple shared snacks or meals as part of the day
- Build communication and follow-through as part of a consistent small group
Adolescence is a time for shared responsibility and growing independence. We design summer as a place where adolescents do meaningful work and experience what it means to be needed within a community.
