Meridian Micro School is seeking an instructor to offer hands-on cooking and gardening enrichment experiences for elementary-aged students.
Essential Functions
• Facilitate hands-on cooking and gardening activities with small groups of students
• Guide students in planting, harvesting, and simple food preparation
• Create a calm and engaging learning environment
• Support students in developing practical life skills and confidence in the kitchen and garden
Competencies
• Experience working with children in educational, camp, or youth settings
• Interest in gardening, cooking, or food education
• Comfort working outdoors and guiding hands-on activities
• Organized, reliable, and able to lead small groups independently
• Professional, punctual, and responsive in communication
• Interest in Montessori philosophy or openness to learning about the Montessori approach
Position Details
This is a contract enrichment opportunity.
School-year enrichment classes begin in the 2026–2027 school year and typically meet:
• One afternoon per week
• 45–60 minute class
• Usually beginning between 2:30–2:45 pm
Instructors set the price per class and the minimum enrollment required for the class to run. Meridian provides the space, registration system, and promotion.
Summer Opportunity
We are also seeking someone who can guide a one-week Cooking & Gardening Camp in mid-July 2026.
