Our adolescent program brings to life Erdkinder in an urban setting and extends our commitment to meaningful learning for the world adolescents are actually entering. Staying rooted in the grassroots microschool model Meridian helped pioneer, we enroll no more than 15 students per class. This allows for a more personal middle- and high school experience and fosters a sense of fellowship uncommon in factory-model schools. Classes combine community- and project-based learning, guided by the Montessori philosophy. Our classroom is a classroom without walls that integrates and enriches our local community, as well as the greater Cincinnati region. Students learn to navigate real-world systems, shared spaces, and responsibilities as part of their daily work. We tailor our curriculum to meet the developmental needs of adolescents and the realities of modern life, while maintaining clear expectations, shared responsibility, and meaningful work.

All students, regardless of schedule, engage in daily outdoor and community-based work that connects learning to life.
Admission Requirements
We currently accept students age 12 to 15 years. An informal meeting with both parent and student is required prior to enrollment. If a student has previously been enrolled in a non-Meridian elementary or middle school program, we may request educational records or transition information from the prior school to support a smooth placement.
