Since launching our Community Resources in 2016, Meridian Learning has cultivated and stewarded an ecosystem that sustains mindful, grassroots education.
Our community resources connect education entrepreneurs, microschool founders, teachers, and partners with the mentorship, frameworks, and shared wisdom needed to grow responsibly, and to stay small by design.
Our community resources include:
Online Courses
Meridian Learning was the first organization in the nation to offer a micro-credential designed specifically for aspiring education entrepreneurs and microschool leaders. Since 2016, we’ve also hosted an annual online conference for grassroots microschools, a space for reflection, renewal, and shared practice among leaders across the movement. Explore our online courses and in-person workshops here.
Grassroots Microschool Meetups
Meridian hosts in person and virtual Grassroots Microschool Meetups that are open to the broader community. These gatherings bring together founders, educators, parents, and community partners to build connection, share insight, and strengthen relationships across the grassroots education ecosystem. Events are shared through our News & Events page and social media channels.
Mentorships
Our mentorships offer sustained, relationship-centered guidance from veteran grassroots and Montessori microschool leaders, as well as long-time community practitioners. Over a six- to nine-month period, mentees gain practical insight and grounded support in leadership, design, and sustainability. Two distinct mentorship options are available for new and aspiring microschool founders, each tailored to accommodate a range of models and stages of growth. Visit the webpage for details and current application status.
Accreditation
Seeking meaningful, accessible accreditation for your grassroots microschool? Meridian Learning’s accreditation model was designed to advance the grassroots microschool movement through reflection, collaboration, and community review, rather than compliance. Each pathway is customized to the school’s mission and context, with three tiers to explore. Visit the webpage for more information.
Consulting
Meridian offers consulting for schools, teachers, education entrepreneurs, and community organizations seeking thoughtful guidance in design, development, and transformation. We bring a holistic view, drawing on experience in designing programs, spaces, and curricula while supporting the growth of people and possibilities.
Depending on location, we provide in-person or virtual guidance or, in some cases, a combination. Clients may choose a standard one-, three-, or ten-hour consulting package or request a custom option. While our offerings are highly personalized, we work successfully within most time frames, budgets, and learning environments.
Media Library
The Media Library is a curated collection of Meridian Learning’s publications, recordings, and public conversations. It includes archival materials alongside selected media and features that reflect Meridian’s long-standing work in grassroots education and microschool development. For current writing and active reflections, visit the Meridian Learning blog.
Mindful Microschools Newsletter
Written and published by Meridian’s founder, the Mindful Microschools newsletter shares reflections, field notes, and thoughtful dialogue on grassroots education and microschool practice. The core newsletter is available to all Meridian members, while extended series, including Stories from the Field and Ask the Founder, are available to Galaxy and Constellation members.
Job Board
Our online job board connects microschool leaders seeking teachers with educators who value innovation, community, and relationship-based learning. Members with Star, Galaxy, or Constellation access may post or browse current opportunities.
Partners & Providers
Meridian Learning members are redesigning education for the 21st century. Collectively, their work creates opportunities for technologists, makers, learning specialists, and other partners committed to meaningful educational transformation. Our partners and providers collaborate with Meridian and our member schools through enrichment programming, professional development, and consulting. When you become part of our partner and provider network, your work supports not only Meridian but also a growing community of grassroots microschools and education entrepreneurs. We highlight these partners and providers here as part of our shared effort to strengthen the microschool ecosystem and extend learning beyond the classroom.
