Where are you located?
Our Indianapolis preschool and kindergarten program is located within the Indianapolis Parent Child Center on 54th Street near Keystone Avenue.
What are your age requirements?
We accept children age 2.5 to 6 years who have mastered toilet learning.
What kind of parent participation do you expect?
We view your child’s education as a collaborative effort; thus, parent participation is encouraged and expected. We ask parents to bring snack on a rotating basis and occasionally assist with other duties such as planning field trips. We do not engage in fundraising as we believe quality time, both ours and yours with your child, is invaluable. Instead, we hope parents will join us for events such as parent education nights, workshops and classroom celebrations. We also encourage parents to help create continuity in their child’s development and to maximize their child’s classroom experience by incorporating Montessori principles at home. Strong parental involvement is a key component of the Montessori philosophy and naturally fits our cooperative format.
Can you help me set up a Montessori nursery, toddler or preschool room for my child at home?
We welcome the opportunity to help you incorporate Montessori into your home or life as a whole.
How much is tuition?
Please contact us for current information regarding tuition and fees, as well as the cost for in-home consultations, supplementary sessions and parent training.
Are you “green?”
Through the introduction of chemical-free materials and nature as a classroom, Maria Montessori encouraged respect for the environment long before it became a global initiative. We’ve taken further steps to reduce our imprint by efficiently utilizing small spaces for meaningful learning. Rather than list all of our planet protecting choices, we invite you to arrange a visit and learn more about our history of sustainable educational design.
How do I know if Montessori is right for my child?
Parents are encouraged to arrange a visit to learn more about the Montessori philosophy and our integrative approach. As a community of Montessorians, we also welcome the opportunity to connect you with other families who have experienced the Montessori difference.
Does the preschool program follow the public school schedule?
We begin our regular school year shortly after Labor Day and end classes just before Memorial Day. Typically, all public school holidays are observed.
Do you offer a summer program?
Yes, please see our preschool page for summer camp information. Additionally, our small group and one-on-one afterschool program is available with extended hours during the months of June and July.
